Siu Leung is a professional and hardworking member of the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection team.
Why did you decide to become a home inspector?
SL: “Home inspection was a natural fit for me. It tied nicely with my building construction background.”
What’s the one thing you wish every homeowner knew?
SL: “How to keep up and maintain their house properly. Particularly new immigrants from other countries who may not be accustom to snow and colder climates.”
What is the most surprising thing you’ve uncovered during a home inspection?
SL: “I found the roof sheathing was extensively covered with mould. The homeowner, who claimed to be a mould specialist, said that he inspected it and indicated that the roof sheathing had no mould. The buyer then took the sample of the roof to a lab for testing; the result revealed mould.”
What is your background/experience/education?
SL: “For over 25 years, I was a project manager in the construction industry in my home town of Hong Kong. I acquired an MSC. in Project Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I’m currently a member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors.”
