Why did you decide to become a home inspector?

JI: “I like the investigative side of the evaluation of a home. It is like being a detective, uncovering clues to the status of a house.”

What’s the one thing you wish every homeowner knew?

JI: “That most TV shows on homeownership, renovations and inspection are 75% entertainment and 25% information.”

What is the most surprising thing you’ve uncovered during a home inspection?

JI: “During one of the inspections I performed I found the home had insufficient amp service for its size, despite the fact that the home had been extensively upgraded – don’t judge a book by its cover.”
