Why did you decide to become a home inspector?

GM: “It allowed me to leverage my previous work experience while focusing more on my interests. I owned my own construction/renovation business, so I am passionate about homes. Home Inspection lets me do what I enjoy: working with homes and people.”

What’s the one thing you wish every homeowner knew?

GM: “Grading around the home and gutters or downspouts actually does affect how dry a basement is.”

What is the most surprising thing you’ve uncovered during a home inspection?

GM: “I was inspecting this single story home which had recently been completely renovated and looked great. It didn’t have a basement, so I went into the crawl space to take a look around. I found that the house basically had no support underneath, just a few old wooden posts; it was entirely unstable.”
