Why select the ASHI@HOME Training System?

Because home inspection is a profession, not a hobby. Here's why:

Technical
This program includes the technical skills you need, covering all the home components and systems that professional inspectors need to know. We start with the basics - how things work and what goes wrong. (You don't need a background in engineering or construction!) We outline what failure of a component means to the performance of the home. Then we get to the heart of the matter, the inspection strategies - how to identify problems and conditions that are soon to be problems. We talk about the tools you need, the inspection procedures and provide inspection checklists for you.

Communication
But the technical side is only part of being a successful home inspector. Home inspectors need to get complex issues into the heads of homebuyers and sellers. We discuss communications at two levels - verbal and written. We talk about how to work effectively onsite with buyers, sellers and real estate professionals. This unique program also addresses report writing - what to include to communicate well and build your success.

Building knowledge
Our comprehensive approach starts with words and illustrations - simple, clear, direct communication. The next step is the CDROMS with actual field situations covered in detail with animation and narrative to help translate the book-learning to the real world. All this prepares you for working in the field. Most will need some internship under the guidance of an experienced inspector, but nothing prepares you for a career in home inspection like this one-of-a-kind 10-course system.
