Notice to Ontario Residents

Thank you for your interest in the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program. Our program prepares people for a successful career in home inspection. The program has been adopted by many community colleges and home inspection associations in Canada and the United States. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for example, has adopted the program and named it ASHI@HOME. The program is also recognized by the National Certification Authority for home inspectors in Canada as meeting their educational requirements.

We believe National Certification is an important designation for home inspectors. For details, please click on the following link. http://www.nca-anc.com/index.php?lang=en

The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) does not recognize the program to the extent that others do. They accept it only as meeting the Introduction to Home Inspection course (a 30-hour requirement) although the program duration is a minimum of 420 hours. For details on the OAHI membership requirements go to www.oahi.com. The OAHI offers members a Registered Home Inspector (RHI) designation. There are several membership criteria to be met.

The Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program is also offered through these Canadian Community Colleges.

The same program if taken through a community college, is recognized by the OAHI as meeting the requirements for the Introduction to Home Inspection course and the Residential Heating Inspection and Residential Electrical Inspection courses. We should point out that the Carson Dunlop program cost is typically higher if taken through a community college in Ontario.
