The program has been adopted by many community colleges and home inspection associations in Canada and the United States. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for example, has adopted the program and named it ASHI@HOME. The program is also recognized by the National Certification Authority for home inspectors in Canada as meeting their educational requirements.

The Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program is also offered through these Canadian Community Colleges.

The same program if taken through a community college, is recognized by the OAHI as meeting the requirements for the Introduction to Home Inspection course and the Residential Heating Inspection and Residential Electrical Inspection courses. The Carson Dunlop program cost is typically higher if taken through a community college in Ontario.
